The quilt has a new home with Lisbeth Plant. I was happy to hear that it raised around $700 for the Health Fund auction . I am so happy that it will go some way to helping research into Berner Health. More news shortly re the next project but get your cameras ready just before Winter!!

SNOW BERNERS .

I have just completed a quilt for the Berner Health Fund Auction to be held at Portland Oregan in a couple of weeks time.

A photo quilt celebrating the magic of berners in the snow. Photos were submitted from a far through Berner L, Berneseinoz and Calgary Berner Walk. Huge thanks to those who contributed from Australia, Canada and the US. The quilt features our beloved dogs enjoying the snow as only Bernese dogs know how. It is with sadness that a couple of these beautiful dogs are no longer with us. Willie and Darby have passed to the Rainbow Bridge.

There are 20 panels featuring the dogs balanced with glittering snow flakes. The images are framed with dog speak words. It is backed with snow flake fabric and approximately 1 metre x 1 metre. The quilt was machine stitched. Hanging tabs have been made to attach to the quilt if required.

A panel is attached to the rear acknowledging the dogs and the photographers of our beautiful dogs.

And yes I will make a memorial quilt for anyone who would like one. I can be contacted on hancock.ca@gmail.com

How I got my name

Well I had arrived to live with the Hancocks. I appeared that I was very much loved by all. Mind you They weren't sure about what to call me. My registration papers had me called Oceanbern Sir Walter which is a bit of a mouthful. I did not want to be called Wally. After a few beers the boys of the house decided I was to be called Cooper after their favourite drop. By this stage I am already growing bigger and spending lots of time sleeping , eating and whatever puppies do!!

I was born August 18 2004, one of 10 puppies born to OceanBern Merry Poppins and proud father Zanzebern Sir Tristam. I was the last puppy to go home, but I did not know it was to be a very long journey. Big brother Chris picked me up from Rye on the Mornington Peninsula and took me to the Airport. Wow only ten weeks of age I began my travels on a big jet plane all the way across Australia. I arrived home at midnight to a very excited mum, dad and another brother Simon. Boy I was tired and very restless. I had a beautiful bed ready for me and a huge teddy bear which just felt like my mum. I was glad to rest my head.
